JOB SUMMARY:
To provide efficient and effective communications linkages between the public, departmental and other law enforcement personnel. The individual will answer and direct non-emergency, 911, fire, police, and after-hours calls for other city departments. Will operate police radio, telephone and law enforcement computer and communications equipment. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and remain calm under stressful situations, while performing mutiple tasks.
PLEASE NOTE: Shift work is required for this position. Position is considered "Essential Personnel," which requires being on duty to respond during emergency situations including, but not limited to, natural and/or man-made disasters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 20 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. The ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm with a high degree of accuracy. Applicant must complete the required courses in telecommunications offered by the Texas Department of Public Safety within the time frame specified by the Rosenberg Police Department.
Starting salary:
$27,393.60 Basic Certification
$30,617.50 Intermediate Certification
$33,800.00 Advanced Certification
