Thank you for visiting the official website of the Rosenberg Fire Department. Our fire department is a combination department made up of paid and volunteer fire fighters. The paid staff is comprised of 32 suppression personnel and 6 administrative personnel. This includes a Fire Chief, an Assistant Chief, 3 Captains, 6 Lieutenants, and 23 paid fire fighters, a Fire Marshal, an Administrative Secretary, and a Department Secretary. The volunteers have there own officer group, it is comprised of 1 Assistant Chief, 1 Captain, and 2 Lieutenants.  We provide fire, rescue, and first responder services for about 80 square miles of territory in the city and county. The territory in the county is part of what is known as Extra Territorial Jurisdiction. This is an area that the city is going to annex sometime in the future. The paid and volunteer staffs work very closely together to provide the community with many different services. These include fire suppression, first responders, rope rescue, hazardous materials, water rescue (swift and still), collapse and cave-in rescue, and vehicle extrication. In addition to emergency operations we conduct building inspections, fire prevention classes to students and adults, fire extinguisher classes, and operation baby safe. Operation baby safe is a program we conduct in cooperation with the area hospitals. We provide all families that live in the City of Rosenberg with a free smoke detector that have a newborn baby. This project allows us to help ensure that all homes in the city have smoke detectors.  If you are interested in more information or volunteering please contact us via email or come by the administrative offices located at 1012 Fifth Street any time Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm.
