Seated L to R: Councilor Waline Sebesta, Mayor Joe Gurecky, Councilor Susan Euton. Standing L to R: Councilor Dwayne Grigar, Councilor Juan Salazar, Councilor Joe Segura, Councilor Tom Suter

Council Meetings

The City Council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber located at 2110 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, Texas. A special meeting is scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chamber. Other special meetings may be called periodically. Notices of all meetings are posted on a bulletin board at the front door of City Hall 72 hours prior to the meeting. Emergency meetings may be called with two (2) hours written notice.

Addressing Council

Time is allotted at the beginning of each item on the council agenda for residents, staff and other interested persons to address Council regarding agenda items. Time is also allotted at each regular meeting for persons wishing to address Council on non-agenda items or other issues. These non-agenda items or other issues must be related to City business only. Speakers are asked to step to the podium as soon as you are recognized by the Mayor, and state your name and address before beginning your presentation. To save time, and allow for all to speak, debate or discussion with Council regarding a presented item is not possible at this time; however, your comments are part of the official minutes of the Council Meeting.

Proposing Resolutions or Proclamations

Contact the Mayor or the City Secretary and make a request for the resolution or proclamation. If approved by the Mayor, the City Secretary will see that appropriate arrangements are made.

Adding Items to Council Agenda

Submit a written request to the City Secretary at least ten (10) days prior to the Council meeting. The Mayor and Council will review the request and determine whether or not it will be placed on the agenda. The City Secretary will advise whether or not the item will be placed on the agenda.

Elections

Elections for Council positions are held the second Saturday of the month of May in odd-numbered years. The next election for City officers will be held in May 2011.
