   City Council Members

  Mayor Joe M. Gurecky was elected to the office of City Council, District 4, in 1995, and was elected as Mayor in 1999. The Mayor graduated from Needville High School, Taylor Vocational and Technical School and Wharton County Junior College. He worked as a manager at N. L. Baroid from 1957 until he founded his company, Gurecky Manufacturing Service, Inc. He has farmed and raised cattle in the Fairchild and Guy areas for 40 years. Mayor Gurecky is a Director for OakBend Medical Center, serves on the Advisory Board of NewFirst National Bank, and was elected 2003 Rosenberg-Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year. He serves on numerous boards for community organizations and is a very active member of his church, Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
 

Councilor Susan Euton was elected to the office of City Councilor, At Large Position 1, in May 2009. She graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1976. She earned a BA in Business and Economics from Rice University in 1980, and a Masters of Accounting from Rice University in 1981. Councilor Euton holds a Certified Public Accountant license and also is a Texas Notary Public. She has been the Financial Manager of Kroll’s Marine for the past 23 years. She has served on the First Baptist Church Rosenberg’s Stewardship Committee for the past seven years and is the AWANA Secretary/Worker for the First Baptist Church. She is also an active member of the Houston Boating and Trade Association and a member of the Rosenberg Small Business Association. Councilor Euton is also serving on the City’s Rosenberg Development Board.
  Councilor Waline Sebesta was elected to the office of City Councilor, At Large Position 2, in June 2005. She graduated from Needville High School and recently retired from the City of Rosenberg. While at the City, Sebesta assisted with the Rosenberg Planning and Zoning Commission and also worked with the Image Committee, the Parks and Recreation Board and several other committees. Councilor Sebesta attends Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she is a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society.
  Councilor Juan Salazar was elected to the office of City Councilor, District 1, in May 2009. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1980. He obtained an Associates of Art degree from Wharton County Junior College in 1983 and an Engineering Technology degree from Texas A&M University in 1985. Councilor Salazar is co-owner of Dick’s Auto Electric in Rosenberg. He is a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and has served on the scholarship committee, the bazaar and the money counting teams, and the planning committee for the building of the new church. Councilor Salazar is currently serving on the City’s Employee Benefits Committee, Finance/Audit Committee, and Rosenberg Convention and Visitors Bureau.
  Councilor Joe G. Segura was elected to the office of City Councilor, District 2, in 1992, and he served from that date to May 1999, when he chose not to run for office. He was re-elected to that seat in May 2005. Segura graduated from Lamar High School and works in sales. Councilor Segura served on the Rosenberg Parks and Recreation Board when he was on the City Council the first time and has served continuously on that Board as a citizen member, since he left Council.
  Councilor Dwayne Grigar was elected to the office of City Councilor, District 3, in May 2003. He graduated from Wharton County Junior College and TSTI, Waco. Grigar works as a Fort Bend County Drainage Engineer Assistant and is a member of the Texas Floodplain Management Association. He served on the Rosenberg Planning and Zoning Commission and various other City related committees and boards. Councilor Grigar is currently a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee, the Lamar/Needville Fort Bend County Fairs and other community service groups. He also serves as Board of Director with Fort Bend County Fair Scholarship Foundation.
  Councilor Tom Suter was elected to the office of City Councilor, District 4, in May 2005. He obtained a BA from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas and is a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, Texas Crime Prevention Association. Suter serves as Parish Business Administrator for the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. His long list of community service includes Chair of the Rosenberg Planning and Zoning Commission, and membership on City, Texas State Technical College, Lamar CISD, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church committees and advisory councils.
